Happy 8th Anniversary UNTV!

Philippines’ Public Service TV station celebrated its 8th year anniversary last July 24, 2012. Time flies so fast that this local television station has established its brand in the industry fulfilling its mission – to reach out to people who have less in life.

Here’s a few of the several projects the station has carried out or spearheaded with the leadership of station’s CEO, Mr. Daniel Razon.

– Tree planting and clean up drive aiming to address environment issues
– Launch of Mobile Manibela Academy to provide free driving lessons, free basic automotive lessons, free learning sessions on livelihood programs (in partnership with TESDA)
– Launch of basketball league – UNTV cup to fund charitable institutions

Kuya Daniel, as they call him, mentions that all these were in coherence to Bro. Eli’s campaign, “Good deed will never result to evil.” It’s nice to hear the CEO denying praises coming from people with all the success of the said TV station. He just says, “To God be the glory!’

I’ve heard from Yahoo OMG! that UNTV has announced its new theme is “Tahanan mo, Tahanan natin” (Your home, our home.) Sounds sweet! I fast recall this saying, “Home is where your heart is.” Amen to that! At home, you feel at ease, you act naturally or free from pretensions. And I love the feeling of being at home. Most homes consist of loving family, loving brotherhood and happy hearts. Discipline is also first taught at home.

UNTV is not just Kapuso, not just Kapamilya, not just Kapatid! UNTV is a HOME that welcomes everyone who wishes to be heard, loved and cared for!

Have a blessed week ahead.

  1. The Philippines should be proud to have such superb public service at its homeland. This network, though younger in comparison with the more popular(ity-hungry) ones is definitely a force when it comes to true public service works. This is just what the nation needs in a time of political and economic adversities — a beacon of hope and goodwill, without asking for anything in return. This is humanity at its finest and I’m giddy that it is happening in my homeland.
