After one of the worst tropical typhoons in the Philippines, “Ondoy” (international codename Ketsana) here comes “Pepeng” (Parma). This alarm millions of Filipinos with its wind intensity and amount of rainfall to trigger worst flooding that this super typhoon might bring.
My senses were distressed with a lot of updates in the television. There says, other parts of Metro Manila were still suffering from hunger and health threat that the flood has brought. Not to mention other disasters like landslides and cases of people electrocuted that took place last weekend.
There was one thing that lessened my weariness. It was wisdom from a Church leader named, Bro. Eli Soriano. Inculcated in my mind and engraved in my heart that “God’s loving kindness is immeasurable”. He always reminds the congregation that there were reasons behind all these happenings.
Nobody can overpower the Almighty God, nobody can outrun from His mighty hands. Not even the wealthy people or the mighty ones… Can a rich man tell the flood to avoid his place? Can a superstar tell the wind to stop from blowing and spare him his fully furnished three storey house?
Happy and grateful that blessedness came my way edging me apart from billions who do not understand!
Hold on the to truth that God said “never will I bring flood to destroy mankind again. Remember the rainbow?
But please be reminded that God can send in something else much worse:
Revelation 21:8
8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Let us pray that none of us fill fall into these.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Good thoughts Celine!
May He bless and keep us always.
You are fortunate – for you have learned that God is the most sturdy of fortresses, and in Him the wise dwells.
I pray that you’ll always keep the faith – and inspire those without faith to acquire the right one, with God’s help and mercy.
…with God’s help and mercy, the same wish that I have in my heart…
